We require this information to meet your needs and fulfill the services you would like us to provide, Your information will only be passed onto Scotties Driving Instructors to provide our services. Once the pupil has finished their training with us all personal information whether it be paperbased or electronically stored will be shredded.

We are committed to ensuring that your information is secure. In order to prevent unauthorised access or disclosure, we have put in place suitable physical, electronic and managerial procedures to safeguard and secure the information we collect online. Your payment details are collected via the secure servers at Paypal, and at no time does any other organisation (including ours) have access to your payment details.

How we use cookies

Your data will be removed within 24 hours.

General Statement

Scotties Driving School Instructors are trained to DSA Standards and are licenced by the Driving Standards Agency. All our instructors have also been checked by CRB

Terms and Conditions

The pupil must be in possession of a current valid provisional driving licence. It must be shown to the instructor on the first lesson. It is your responsibility to inform your instructor of any official changes to your driving licence.

You, the pupil, must promptly and clearly advise your instructor of any medical condition or any other issues that may impair your ability to drive, whereupon your instructor will take the appropriate action to conform to his/her legal or moral obligations.

Your lesson will be cancelled without any notice, if you the pupil have/are under the influence of alcohol or drugs. It is a criminal offence to drive under the influence, your lesson will be still chargeable.

The Pupil MUST provide a minimum of 48 hours’ notice of any lesson cancellation otherwise the pupil will be liable for the full cost of the lesson.

All payments for lessons must be paid either before the lesson (Online) or at the start of the lesson if payment is made in cash. Scotties Instructors will NOT do lessons on credit, if the instructor turns up for the lesson and payment has not been paid, your lesson will not go ahead and you maybe charged for the lesson. If there is a need to go to an ATM the time will come out of the lesson duration, this enables the Instructor to get to their next client on time.

If the pupil cancels more than 3 weeks of consecutive lessons the instructor may not be able to guarantee future lesson slots booked in

Your instructor will at all times endeavor to comply with lesson arrangements but cannot be held responsible for any inconvenience due to unforeseen events (Mechanical Breakdown/Instructor Illness etc.). The instructor will endeavor to give the pupil as much notice as possible. 

Some of Scotties Driving School tuition vehicles are fitted with video cameras, these cameras are fitted for insurance purposes and maybe used as a teaching aid. The Cameras are forward and rear facing and record what is happening through the windscreen\rear window, they do not record the pupil.

Any items/personal belongings left in the instructor car is not the responsibility of the Instructor or Scotties Driving School.

Any abusive, offensive or other such conduct will not be tolerated and the driving lesson may be terminated without notice.

Any abusive, offensive conduct by the pupil’s parent or their guardian will not be tolerated and lessons with the pupil maybe cancelled without any notice. If a parent or guardian would like a regular update from our instructor please feel free to contact the instructor for an update between the following hours (09:00 to 17:00) either by text message or telephone call.

Any complaints (Whatever the nature) are between the INSTRUCTOR and you the PUPIL not Scotties Driving School. By signing these terms and conditions you are making a contract between you the pupil and the instructor, Not Scotties Driving School.

The cost of taking the driving test in one of the instructor’s cars will be £85.00, this is subject to the pupil living locally. If the pupil lives outside the local area the cost maybe enhanced. If the pupils test is not taken at the local test centre the cost will be enhanced to cover additional costs.

Your instructor reserves the absolute right to refuse the use of the vehicle for the purposes of taking the practical driving test if it appears in the instructor’s view that the pupil has not attained the required driving standard. 

When booking a driving test, a joint agreement is to be made between both INSTRUCTOR and PUPIL before a practical driving test is booked. The ‘Driving Test Readiness Agreement’ must be signed by both instructor and Pupil, if the pupils is under the age of 18 the agreement must be signed by a parent or guardian. Failure of the ‘Driving Test Readiness Agreement’ not being signed will result in the instructor not making the car available for the use of taking a driving test.

On the pupil passing their driving test the instructor may ask to take a photo with you with your pass certificate, By signing the terms and conditions you are agreeing to us posting it on our website or social media websites. This is so that we comply to the (GDPR) Data Protection Regulation.

The Instructor or Scotties Driving School are not responsible for the cancellation or postponement of a driving test. If your driving test is cancelled at short notice by the DVSA, your lesson fee is still payable. You may be able to claim back the lesson fee from the DVSA.

All blocked booked lessons and gift vouchers must be taken within a 6-month period otherwise the lessons/voucher will be void. 

To comply with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) by signing these terms and conditions you agree to Scotties Driving School/Your Instructor to storing and holding data about you i.e (Name, Address, Telephone and any other information to enable us to provide driving lessons and booking/completing of driving test). Your personal data will be shredded whether mechanically or electronically on passing your driving test or not continuing driving lessons with us. A signed copy of these terms and conditions will be stored electronically or physically by the instructor and will be shredded (Electronically or Physically) on the pupil passing their driving test or pupil no longer doing driving lessons with us.
